I was looking at the website online and wondered what kind of deals can you get there if you go, is it really a big sale as far as savings versus buying items straight from American girl?
From the sound of the site it is packed lol!
thanks for any feedback the dates for 2006 are up on their site!

I went this year and the deals were great. They had Molly's Bike for $20, Josefina's Table & Chairs for $15, Molly's Desk for $35, Samantha's Ice Skates for $5 and lots of other great deals.

I went to the sale this year, too - for my first time. The most important thing to remember about the sale is to get a ticket the moment (and I literally mean the moment) they go on sale. Tickets are time-specific and only so many people are let in at a time. If you are looking for dolls, you can go about any time. For furniture, you should be there in the morning (I had a 9:15 ticket and got the last of 2 items- boy did I feel lucky!), and if you want clothes, you need to get there before I did because there wasn't much left. There were LOTS of a few outfits, but very little variety. Some furniture was cheap- Kit's table and chairs were $30, Josefina's table and chairs were $15. They also had Kit's trunk for $60 I think. So some things are a HUGE bargain, but (at elast at 9:15) they don't have everything- so if there is something very specific you want, you may not get it at the sale.
I would definetly recommend going, though. The experience itself was worth the $12 ticket fee.
If you go back and look at posts from the end of July, you'll find lots about what people bought and pictures, too.

We were going to go but my mom cancelled our plans because her work wouldn't give her that weekend off. They approved her vacation for all but the days of, before and after the sale.
Hopefully we'll go next year.

Is the MCM sale an actual sale, or an auction? I was just wondering. Thanks!

Well, its a two-day event. The first day is an actual sale. The next day is an auction. At least thats how I think it works.

Wow, I SOOO would have bought Kit's trunk if I had gone! I'll never buy it at the current price. Several months ago I bought Kit's table and chairs. A very expensive purchase but at least the items are well made. To be able to get items at the bargain sale prices would seem unreal.

It is a two day sale. On Sunday they also have a small amount of more limited items that are auctioned off. This year they had around 20 or so items up for auction. There was a piece of paper near each item. You wrote down your name and bid. The highest bid (meeting the reserve) at 11am won the item.
